A PRE-SCHOOL in a Chester village could close this Christmas after 40 years, unless it can recruit more committee members.
On public noticeboards in the village of Dodleston a poster has been placed to say there will be an extraordinary general meeting of the pre-school next week, which could be the “last chance” to save it from closure.
The meeting has been organised in the hope that people will step forward and join the committee, with at least two trustees and a chairperson needed to enable the pre-school to survive.
The poster states: “We are desperately trying to get a committee together in order to keep the pre-school open.
“Dodleston pre-school has been a part of our village for 40 years. The pre-school will shut down at Christmas 2023 if we are unable to recruit a chair and at least two further trustees to the committee.”
The EGM meeting at the village hall takes place on Tuesday, November 28 at 7pm.
According to the poster, should the group be unable to form committee, a further EGM will be arranged “to formalise the winding up and dissolution of Dodleston Pre-school”.
