A WOMAN has avoided jail despite being caught growing cannabis and being concerned in its supply.

Andriana Levesey, of no fixed abode in Barnton, appeared at Chester Crown Court on December 5 after previously pleading guilty to both charges.

The court heard the 26-year-old was concerned in the supply of cannabis for more than a year between May 26, 2022, and June 18 this year.

On August 25 last year, Levesey was caught growing 24 cannabis plants in Barnton.

Judge Simon Berkson sentenced Levesey to a total of 16 months imprisonment, but suspended the term for 18 months.

A supervision period was also imposed, requiring the defendant to return to court monthly for review hearings
