VOLUNTEERS who have done so much to improve the lives of Lache residents in Chester have been congratulated for all their efforts by the Lord Mayor of Chester.
The community centre in Hawthorn Road was the venue for a special Christmas lunch attended by civic leader Councillor Sheila Little, accompanied by Lache councillor Alex Tate.
The volunteers, led by main organiser Pauline Price, have developed a gardening group, a walking group, a knit and natter coffee morning, craft work and a dementia cafe mainly providing support and company for older residents.
