Strictly stars' Escape to the Country estate agents 'thrilled'

Gascoigne Halman, which opened its first office in the town in 1990, was asked to keep quiet about its involvement in the new five-part series, Celebrity Escape to the Country, which began on December 18.

The show features stars including Christopher Biggins, Cheryl Baker, and The Chase’s Jenny Ryan, as they search for their dream rural bolthole in some of the UK’s most sought-after areas.

Episode 3, airing on Saturday, December 27, saw Strictly professionals Aljaz Skorjanec and Janette Manrara viewing Yew Tree Cottage in North Rode, near Congleton, which Gascoigne Halman are marketing.

Also featured on the show’s ‘Market Roundup' section was another property being marketed by Gascoigne Halman, called Coppice, which is one of just five eco luxe, ultra-low energy properties, constructed by Altin Homes in Prestbury. 

The couple, who had a healthy £700,000 to £900,000 budget, also saw properites in Knutsford and Bollington.

What’s more, says John, Yew Tree Cottage is still on the market, though interest has peaked since the show aired.

And while Coppice has now sold, two other properties on the five-home development are nearly finished, and are already attracting a huge amount of interest.

John added: “We don’t expect these properties to be on the market for long after their national TV exposure.

“Our offices are open throughout the festive period, and we are inviting parties interested in these two properties, or anything else we currently have available, to please contact your local team. 

“If you are looking to make a property move in the New Year, the sooner you start the process, the better to be in a strong position as both a buyer and seller in 2024.”
