A CHESTER woman who has just celebrated turning 100 years-old still enjoys a dance around the kitchen.
Pamela McAlpine reached a century between Christmas and New Year. She was born in Chester on 28th December 1923, and lived in Broughton and Handbridge during her childhood.
She joined the Army at aged 17 and served in the Royal Artillery during World War Two.
After the war Pam married Hugh and brought up their three sons, Tony, Stephen and Tim.
Pam celebrated her 100th birthday last week with her close family including two of her granddaughters and five great grandchildren.
According to Pam and her family, the secret to a long and happy life is to be positive, happy and keep moving - she still enjoys a dance around the kitchen!
