THE redevelopment of the former University of Law Chester Campus in Christleton has moved a step closer with a luxury show home set to open soon.
The 2.7 hectare site, which became vacant when the university moved to the Queen's Park Campus, will soon encompass 24 houses developed by Castle Green Homes.
Planning was approved in April 2022 and work to prepare the land for new homes began in summer 2023.
The homebuilder is now preparing to welcome discerning buyers into a professionally styled and fully furnished show home at the prestigious development, known as College Park. It will be available from January 13, when the first five properties will also be released for sale.
Sian Pitt, sales director at Castle Green said: "It’s important that we acknowledge the area’s history while giving the land a new lease of life. With that in mind, we’ve taken inspiration from the academic use of the site of our new homes in Christleton and named the development College Park.
"Local people have shown a strong interest in the future of the site and we’ve been receiving enquiries about the homes since our involvement with the redevelopment of the former university site was announced.
"Work on site is progressing well and we’re looking forward to being able to showcase the luxury level of living the exclusive choice of three, four and five-bedroom homes from our Signature Collection will offer with the opening of the show home. We also offer the ability to take a virtual tour of the development and the individual homes before they’re built via the website."
The show home will be an example of Castle Green's 'Townsend' house type. A substantial, double fronted, detached five-bedroom home, offering an impressive 2,908 sq. ft of living space.
The new homes in Christleton will include a choice of Laura Ashley kitchens with co-ordinated quartz worktops. Kitchens will be equipped with NEFF appliances including hob, oven, microwave, under counter wine cooler and integrated dishwasher. The largest and most luxurious properties will include a larder fridge and full height cabinet freezer.
Kitchens and family areas will be fitted with a choice of Porcelanosa ceramic floor tiles or Amtico flooring. Bathrooms and en-suites will also benefit Porcelanosa wall and floor tiles, Duravit sanitaryware with complementary chrome taps and a choice of vanity units to the principal en-suite, bathroom and cloakroom.
"We have virtual tours of every house type available via the website, with the option to view furnished or unfurnished. Create a Willow account and you’ll effectively have a digital new homes assistant," Sian added.
"Through this platform buyers can favourite homes and explore the exquisite specification options we offer. There’s even the ability to create a digital twin of your preferred property showcasing the options and upgrades selected."
