A TRADER from Chester's New Market is set to appear on popular BBC show Dragons' Den.
Pop Specs aims to provide stylish and affordable prescription glasses which are ready to be fitted in as little as twenty minutes, and began trading in 2020 from a kiosk in Manchester's Trafford Centre. The BBC premiers its new series of the show, which invites entrepreneurs to pitch their business ideas to five multimillionaire investors, this evening (Thursday, January 4) .
Since 2020, founders Lina and Dan, who first crossed paths whilst studying masters degrees at the University of Chester, have opened ten further locations across the country, including one within the Market on Northgate Street.
The company offers a range of frames, with single vision glasses from £75 and varifocals from £195.
Chester New Market took to social media earlier today saying: "One of our very special traders will be appearing on Dragons Den tonight, on BBC One at 8pm!
"We wish them the best of luck and success on the show just as they have in the market – they have dispensed over 2,500 pairs of glasses since the market opened."
Pop Specs' visit to the Den will be available to watch from 8pm tonight on BBC 1 and BBC iPlayer.
