A BRAND new video, telling the "forgotten story" of Ellesmere Port, will be premiered next month.

Ellesmere Port Local and Family History Society is holding the premiere on Sunday, February 11 at the Whitby Social Club.

They will show the 15-minute CGI video at 6.30 p.m. and 7.30 p.m.  It will be on the large screen in the main bar and doors open at 6pm.

The idea behind it is to get many more people interested in the town’s history, particularly the younger generation as there is a "unique story to tell".

The video is being created by Dextra Visual, which is run by a resident of Ellesmere Port who has a particular interest in the area, having lived there all his life.   

It will cover a wide circuit of the town, beginning and ending at the Boat/National Waterways Museum and take you through a fair bit of the town’s history.   

Titled ‘Help Save Ellesmere Port’s History’, the video was crowd-funded through SpaceHive with Cheshire West and Chester Crowd making a substantial contribution.
