A NURSE working at a Chester hospital has been found guilty of showing an indecent video of a child to a colleague.

Ebob Apana Agey, 52, was working in the Willow Ward at Bowmere Hospital at the Countess of Chester Health Park when she showed a colleague the indecent video on February 18, 2022, Chester Crown Court heard as part of her trial last week.

Agey had accepted the indecent video, which showed a girl aged about six years old involved in a sex act on an adult male, was on her phone.

She had claimed she had not seen the video, which had also been forwarded to her husband a few days earlier, until shortly before showing it to the male colleague, and claimed she was disgusted by it.

But the jury found her guilty on Friday, January 12, on both charges of distributing an indecent video on February 15 and showing an indecent video.

Agey, of Rushwood Close, Walsall, will be sentenced on February 16 at Chester Crown Court before trial judge Eric Lamb.

She was released on conditional bail, not to have any unsupervised contact with children aged under 18 without the express permission of social care, and a pre-sentence report is to be obtained.

Prosecutor Simon Parry, in his closing speech to the jury, told them the colleague who was shown the video during the night shift reported the matter to police.

The court heard Agey was of previous good character and did not have any other indecent material or internet searches on her phone, following a police search.
