THE Royal Cheshire County Show returns this summer for its 186th year.

This event will be held at Tabley showground on June 18 and 19 and promises to be a highlight of the social calendar attracting visitors from across the north west.

Special discounted tickets are available until the end of February.

This year the show will include more than 3,000 beautiful animals to see and interact with and competitions to watch.

Professional horse jumping, cattle, pigs, dogs, heavy horses, pygmy goats are just some of the many attractions.

The best of Cheshire food and drink will be showcased with hundreds of artisan food, drink and craft stalls to wander round at your leisure and enjoy.

New to 2024 will be medieval re-enactment group the Knights of Nottingham, who will perform in the main ring and immerse audiences in the chivalry, grandeur and glory of the Middle Ages.

In the Roberts Bakery Food Live Theatre, multi-Michelin star chef Jean Christophe Novelli will be cooking up a storm in the kitchen with Samia Longchambon.

Petrolheads will welcome the return of the Red Dragon Monster Truck Ride as they get can get strapped into huge vehicles as it bounces, twists and turns around a track.

Stunning birds of prey will be on show and visitors can watch the Young Farmers floats compete.

A visit to the Bidlea Dairy Agri-centre promises sheep shearing and milking demonstrations, offering an education immersion in food production and capturing the fascinating journey from ‘farm to fork’.

Many more attractions are still to be announced.

This year the showground will remain open until 10pm on Tuesday, June 18 for Late at the Show, featuring live music, food stalls and bars, children’s fairground, tug o’ war and much more including headline music artists to be announced soon.
