A SERIES of roadworks are set to disrupt traffic throughout the region from this evening (Thursday, March 7), here’s how you can avoid any unwanted delays.
The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that closures are due to start over from 9pm, affecting the M53 and M56.
However, don’t worry too much if you do get caught in the traffic, delays are expected to be manageable with wait times of around 10 minutes on average.
National Highways have highlighted the following closures:
- M53 Northbound Junction 12 entry slip road closure, 9pm to 6am.
- M53 Northbound Junction 11 exit slip road closure, 9pm to 6am.
- M53 Southbound Junction 9 to 12 carriageway closure, 9pm to 6am.
- M53 Southbound Junction 12 exit slip road closure, 9pm to 6am.
- M56 Westbound to M53 Northbound and Southbound link road closure, 9pm to 6am.
The work is part of an overall scheme which will affect the M53 northbound and southbound from Junction 12 to 8 and the M56 westbound from Junction 14 to 15.
Lane closures and carriageway closures are in place so that work can be carried out on barriers.
Full details of all schedule closures can be found on the National Highway website.
