Four University of Chester students are supporting preparations for this year's Green Expo.

Four undergraduates are integrating their studies and practical work to support a series of events that will take place throughout Chester Green Weekend and beyond.

The Green Expo, now in its third year, features activities such as a prestigious Photo Competition, a Youth Conference on June 14 and an Innovation Zone in Grosvenor Park from June 15-16.

It also includes an awards dinner planned for November 14.

Among the student participants is Reece Kerekes from California, studying International Tourism Management and he is also a Geography major.

Rio Owen from Aberconwy is studying Digital Marketing and works part-time in Primark.

Israt Mahmud Efti from Bangladesh is studying Economics, has previously worked for the British Heart Foundation and runs an online Economics & Math’s tutoring platform.

Additionally, Ethan Green from Southport is studying Accounting and Finance, is learning Chinese and, in his spare time, enjoys water sports and Air Cadets.

Praising the student's involvement, Chris Walton, Green Expo's operations manager, said, "I’m excited to join Green Expo as Operations Manager and to work with these talented students to present great ideas of what can be achieved to contribute to a more sustainable world."

Jane Harrad-Roberts, project director for Green Expo 2024 also said: "I’m really looking forward to working with the students and everyone on creating fantastic events for Chester and the Northwest.

"I know the potential students have and the skills they can bring to a project like this."
