THIS is how you stand a chance of going along to Chester races on Friday for free.

Chester Racecourse is paying homage to the 200th anniversary of the prestigious Chester Cup by offering free entry to the first 50 people that arrive on the day and that share a namesake with a jockey that’s set to ride in the 3:45pm race on Friday, May 10.

The Chester Cup brings together top jockeys from around the world to showcase their skills on the turf of Chester Racecourse.

As the excitement builds for this year's milestone event, Chester Racecourse is excited to be adding an extra layer of anticipation by inviting the first 50 namesakes of the participating jockeys on the third day of the Boodles May Festival to join in the festivities with complimentary entry into the Tatterstalls.

Louise Stewart, chief executive, Chester Race Company, said: “We are delighted to offer this unique opportunity to individuals who share a name with one of the formidable jockeys riding in the 200th anniversary race of the Chester Cup.

"The Chester Cup is not only a highlight of the racing calendar, but also a celebration of the sport's rich traditions and the remarkable athletes who compete at the highest level.

"So, whether you have the same name as last year’s Chester Cup winner, Saffie Osbourne, or the reigning champion jockey, William Buick, we look forward to welcoming you in for free on Friday 10th May.”

To take advantage of this exclusive offer, punters must be among the first 50 individuals to arrive on Friday 10th May, presenting valid identification that confirms their full name matches that of a jockey participating in the Chester Cup.

The first 50 eligible namesakes will receive complimentary entry in the Tatterstalls enclosure, where they can enjoy a thrilling day of horse racing action, entertainment, and hospitality.

A full list of the names of Jockey’s on the day will revealed on Wednesday 8 May at chester-races.com.
