FIVE fantastic runners took on the AJ Bell Great Manchester 10k on Sunday (May 26) in aid of a Chester-based children’s charity, Adoption Matters.

Team Adoption Matters was made up of John, who impressively completed the course in just under 49 minutes, Ellie, who took part to show her support to her Mum who works for the charity, David, who will also be running the Great North Run in aid Adoption Matters, and Amy, who works for the charity, and her son Ben.

Together, the group raised more than £1,500.

The charity and voluntary adoption agency has offices in Chester, Hale, Blackburn, Warrington, Manchester, Leeds, Stoke and Durham, but they cover the whole of the North of England, parts of the Midlands and Wales, Staffordshire and Shropshire.

The funds raised will help to provide more support to families, children, adopted adults and birth families through the Centre for Fostering and Adoption Support.

Annie O'Neill, Adoption Matters Fundraising and Relationship Manager, comments:

“We are so grateful to all of our runners for their dedication in completing the Great Manchester 10k - it is amazing to see so many people with a connection to our charity give up their time to help us to continue to expand our services for those who need them.

“It was a fantastic effort from team Adoption Matters and we are incredibly thankful to all of them.”
