A VEHICLE has overturned on the M56 Eastbound, leading to three miles of building traffic.

The incident, which is believed to have taken place at around 1.20pm this afternoon, Wednesday, has left traffic at a stand still near Junction 6, for Manchester Airport, and Junction 7, Bowdon.

Emergency services have been dispatched to the scene and are dealing with the incident.

National Highways took to X, formerly Twitter, to confirm that North West Motorway police are also in attendance to assist with traffic management.

Delays of approximately 30 minutes are currently expected due to the incident, with three miles of congestion.

Normal traffic conditions are expected to return between 3.15 and 3.30pm today.
