A CRASH has sparked long delays on the M56 near Chester this morning (Wednesday, June 12).
The incident has occurred westbound, and has reportedly partially blocked the carriageway.
There is queueing traffic from J12 A557 (Runcorn) to the M53 (Ellesmere Port) junction.
Traffic is also reportedly slow on the eastbound carriageway as traffic slows past the scene.
A National Highways North West spokesperson said: "There are 30 minute delays on the M56 westbound between J12 Runcorn and J14 Hapsford due to a traffic collision.
"Lane 3 (of 3) is closed and there's approximately 6 miles of congestion. Please plan ahead if you're travelling through the area today."
