A CHESHIRE music festival will be giving away free tickets every time England score at goal at Euro 2024 in celebration of its headliners The Lightning Seeds.
If England win the tournament, Cheshire’s Cosmic Cape Festival on July 20 will be the ‘Three Lions’ band’s first appearance after the team’s triumph.
The song, which is widely regarded as England’s unofficial anthem, was written by The Lightning Seeds with comedians Frank Skinner and David Badeil for Euro 1996.
Every time England scores and the opposing team kicks off, the festival will upload a one-time-use free ticket code to their Instagram Story (@cosmiccapefestival). Followers will need to race to the website and be the first to redeem the free ticket.
Euro 2024 begins this evening (June 14) with Germany to face Scotland at 8pm.
The football fever at Cosmic Cape extends to The Kids Field, which features two football pitches and numerous football activities. Additionally, something special is planned if England wins the tournament the week before.
The festival, which will be staged in Capenhurst, Cheshire features a diverse lineup, from iconic acts like Lightning Seeds to emerging artists like CVC and everything in between. Many of the north-west's top food vendors will be present, and there is a field dedicated to family activities.
For those who prefer not to be glued to the football, Cosmic Cape tickets are available for just £30 on their website, with discounted family tickets also on offer.
Lightings Seeds frontman Ian Broudie said: “We've heard great things about Cosmic Cape, so we are all really excited to play the festival. It’s going to be a day to celebrate local music and community, and who knows, maybe we’ll be celebrating a European Championship too!”
Luke Done, Cosmic Cape Festival Co-Owner said: “The idea of giving away tickets is always scary as a festival organiser but given Lightning Seeds are headlining this just felt too fun not to do! I'm sure I'll get over it fast enough if we're listening to Three Lions on the 20th of July and England have just won the Euros.”
