Two Chester businesses will co-sponsor one of the city's most popular charity events.
Magnify PR and Chester Racecourse are partnering to support Chester Business Club’s annual charity walk.
The free-to-participate event gives a significant boost to causes in the area.
Scheduled on September 15, it starts from the Racecourse and is expected to draw hundreds of participants.
Nick Owens, the founder of Magnify PR and a member of Chester Business Club’s Executive Committee, said: "We’re delighted to be co-sponsoring this event with the race-course which, again, has kindly agreed to play host to the charity walk.
"What I love most about the event is how it brings people together from across the city and beyond to help raise money for some amazing organisations.
"I hope to see lots of people there on the day - as well as dogs who are welcome too!"
Kate Dawson, commercial director at Chester Racecourse, said: "The Chester Business Club’s annual charity walk is a fantastic community event that we’re always proud to support.
"It’s a rewarding occasion that sees so many local businesses and people come together to raise awareness and funds for incredible charitable groups and causes.
"We look forward to seeing everybody at the racecourse for the start of this year’s walk and wish all those participating the best of luck."
The event will be officially started by the current High Sheriff of Chester, Clare Hayward.
She also said: "I am delighted to support the Chester Business Club's walk.
"I love the ongoing commitment to local causes by the local business community.
"The Chester Business Club cares about the people, the businesses and the area.
"It combines community, charity, enables connections and raises cash for good causes.
"I look forward to seeing everyone at Chester Racecourse."
Peter Broxton, the chair of the Charity Walk, highlighted the family-friendly nature of the event.
He said: "For those who haven't taken part before it's important to point out that far from being a competitive race, the walk is a gentle Sunday morning stroll.
"The distance is only six miles and a bit, and the club's legendary refreshment stops will be en route - Mars Bars, orange juice and bacon butties or a vegetarian option with coffee.
"We finish with a refreshing gin and tonic, or soft drinks."
Walkers are provided with sponsorship forms for their specific charity, and face-painters, and a competition for the best and worst-behaved dog will also be part of the day.
Registration starts at 10.15am and the walk at 11am.
