A CHESHIRE town's newest restaurant is almost here.
Indian street food restaurant Mowgli, which has a restaurant at Cheshire Oaks is set to open its doors on King Street, Knutsford, next month.
Founder of the chain, Nisha Katona MBE, sees the move as a homecoming.
She said: “Taking Mowgli to Knutsford is like bringing her home for me.
“I love everything about the foodie, four-legged, friendly Knutsford atmosphere, and taking my Indian home kitchen to this community makes me so excited.
“It's a market town where I spend so much of my time; I love the lunch scene, the dog-friendly shops, and the twinkling high street evenings."
Mowgli currently operates more than 20 venues across the UK, with locations in Manchester, London, Liverpool and Edinburgh.
The restaurants are distinctive for their fairy lights and swinging seats, which taken inspiration from Nisha’s grandmothers’ home in Varanasi, India.
On the menu you can find a range of street food options and curries as well as their signature tiffin boxes – described as 'food roulette'.
Nisha added: “Everything is cooked fresh by our team of local chefs every morning, and every day, we know we are only as good as our last curry. We hope diners will love Mowgli's passion for healthy, fresh Indian food.
Mowgli isn’t just about the food.
To date, the Mowgli Trust has raised almost £2 million for good causes.
Every restaurant is partnered with a local charity.
In the case of the Knutsford venue, that charity is East Cheshire Hospice.
Nisha said: "I'm full of enthusiasm; for every Mowgli, we create jobs for local foodies, aim to raise more than £500,000 per year for charity and sponsor a child in need for every full-time employee.
"To make Knutsford truly our home, we will adopt East Cheshire Hospice as our local house charity recommended by those who dine with us, to whom we will dedicate our time and resources".
Luke Oldham, corporate fundraiser at the hospice, added: "We are so proud to partner with Mowgli.
“It's clear that charitable giving is part of the fabric of the company and we are thrilled that they have chosen to represent East Cheshire Hospice.
“A hospice only exists because of the goodwill and generosity of its surrounding community, and this partnership is an exciting opportunity for us to make deeper connections with the people of Knutsford. Thank you, Mowgli."
Reservations for Mowgli Knutsford are open now via the company’s website.
Bookings are available from July 19.
