A Cheshire organisation has appointed their new chief executive officer as Gill Reeder.

Deaf & Sensory Network (DSN) appointed Ms Reeder, who started her journey with DSN in 1975 and has climbed her way to the top, to her new executive role.

The organisation said that her extensive experience and commitment to their cause made her the ideal candidate.

Ms Reeder went from employee to social worker in 1988 and has continued to rise.

She will now lead an organisation that employs more than 80 professionals across Cheshire and North East Wales.

Ms Reeder's strong management team will support her in DSN’s work, which entails delivering high-quality social care services for sensory loss individuals.

The organisation also offers supported living accommodation and gives training for corporates and individuals.

Ms Reeder said: "When I started at DSN almost 49 years ago, I would never have thought I would end up at the top position of CEO and what an honour it is.

"Thank you to the board and the staff for trusting me - I am honoured to step forward into this role to continue our mission and strategic direction forward seamlessly for DSN."

Dave Fardoe, the chairman at DSN said: "Gill has been our interim CEO since last August, providing much-needed stability and progress.

"She has successfully addressed urgent matters and advanced key initiatives for DSN.

"Following a formal interview process, we are thrilled to confirm her as our permanent CEO.

"On behalf of the board, I wish Gill and her team every success."
