THE third annual Handbridge Summer Festival will take place this weekend, with a host of live bands, stalls and activities on offer.
The event, which is organised by the Handbridge Community Association, will run from 11am until 6pm on Sunday, June 23, with Chester’s Lord Mayor set to get the celebrations underway.
There will be performances from House of Dance, and live music from singer Oliver Liddiard, local band Radio Silence, Two Dead Ends, Black Jacks Blues and Wardens of the North.
Refreshments will be available from St Mary’s Church, Overleigh Road.
Visitors can also browse more than 20 market stalls selling a range of items from homemade jewellery to stained glass and woodwork to wellness products.
Street food stalls and ice cream will be on offer, as well as fairground sweet treats like popcorn and candy floss.
For little ones there will also be face painting and fairground rides.
Road closures will be in place from the Old Dee Bridge to the junction for Eaton Road from 8am until 8pm to allow the event to take place.
