A Chester hospice has had new signs created to guide people around the site thanks to the housebuilders Redrow.

The Hospice of the Good Shepherd in Backford, Chester, received the revamp from Redrow's team of Interior designers.

This beneficial addition helps patients, outpatients, and visitors navigate through the hospice.

Helen Joseph, from Redrow’s in-house interiors team, explained: "As part of our ongoing support for the hospice we collaborated to refresh their external signage and capture new branding."

Ms Joseph conducted the project during two volunteering days gifted by Redrow, as part of the company’s pledge towards community service.

She said: "The hospice is an amazing place and does so much to care for patients and their families.

"I’m so pleased we could help them in this small way to continue to provide such a superb service.

"A huge thank you to our partners at marketing agency ThinkBDW who also helped to make this possible."

The donation of the signage comes a year after the makeover of the hospice's outpatient waiting room and cafe area by Redrow's interior designers.

This section, known as the 'Living Well outpatient area', offers multiple services like social activities, bereavement counselling, and consultant appointments, among other essential supports.

Rhian Edward, chief executive at the Hospice of the Good Shepherd, said: "What was old and tired is now fresh, new, and most importantly provides much better direction and clarity for all visitors.

"Redrow continue to be such fabulous supporters to the hospice.

"From the bottom of my heart, and I know this will be the same sentiment for the rest of the staff at the hospice, thank you so much."

The hospice provides palliative care for patients in Chester, rural Cheshire, Ellesmere Port and Deeside.

It also offers complementary therapies and bereavement counselling for adults and children.

Yet, the hospice relies heavily on fundraising, events and donations for funding, as just 17 per cent comes from the Government.
