FRIENDS and family of a Chester woman who died of motor neurone disease (MND) are set to honour her memory with a charity golf day.
Fiona Green died of the debilitating illness on June 3, 2023, at the age of just 50. Hector’s Golf Day and Dinner, named after Fiona’s much-loved horse, will raise funds for both MNDA and the Hospice of the Good Shepherd.
Fiona’s mother, Val Bellis said: “So many people have helped in so many ways with raffle prizes, donations and support. So many to thank.”
The Halfway House Bike Club of Childer Thornton consisting of 19 members have ridden 280 miles to support Fiona's appeal for MNDA. Raising a staggering £5020 so far.
Val added: “We are overwhelmed by their generosity.”
A mother to Nate and Isaac, and a successful beauty business owner in Chester, her MND diagnosis came as a shock. Her family and friends said Fiona was "a popular lady who is missed by all who knew her."
The event will take place at Eaton Golf Club on June 28.
The Golf Day is fully subscribed, however anyone wishing to donate is asked to contact Dave Cooper at: dave@hectorscharitycommittee.org.
