A CRASH has sparked "extremely heavy congestion" on a busy road in Deeside this afternoon (Wednesday, June 26).
The incident has happened on Chester Road West in Shotton, with witnesses stating that it involves a vehicle and a child pedestrian.
Police are urging people to avoid the area and find alternative routes.
A spokesperson for North Wales Police's North Flintshire team said: "Police are currently dealing with an RTC (road traffic collision) on Chester Road West, Shotton.
"There is extremely heavy congestion in the area. Please avoid the area for the time being and consider alternative routes.
"Thanks for your co-operation."
