A CHILD was taken to hospital following a road traffic collision in Flintshire today (Wednesday, June 26).
Emergency services were called to the incident on Chester Road West in Shotton shortly before 12.30pm.
It involved a car and a child, with the road being partially blocked until around 2.30pm - causing "extremely heavy congestion" in the area.
An air ambulance reportedly landed near the scene of the incident, but child involved was taken by road ambulance to hospital.
A North Wales Police spokesperson said: "We were called at 12.26pm today to a report of a road traffic collision on Chester Road West, Shotton involving a car and a child.
"Officers have attended along with colleagues from the Welsh Ambulance Service and the air ambulance.
"The child was taken to hospital via a road ambulance."
