The Royal British Legion branch in Willaston near Ellesmere Port has received a funding boost thanks to the UK’s leading developer and manager of retirement communities.
Six branches of the organisation, including the one in Willaston, were each gifted £500 from six McCarthy Stone developments across the Northwest.
This act recognises the valuable work the charity does for the Armed Forces community.
McCarthy Stone is responsible for the Retirement Living development, Symonds Grange, on Hooton Road in Willaston.
In total, £3,000 will help the charity to continue offering financial, social, and emotional care to all serving and retired Armed Forces members, and their families.
Residents of McCarthy Stone, including some who live at Symonds Grange, suggested the donation as the charity is reportedly ‘close to their hearts’.
Poppy Appeal manager for the Royal British Legion (RBL), Alan Whitmore, commented: "The Royal British Legion would like to thank the whole team at McCarthy Stone for this generous donation.
"The RBL is at the heart of a national network supporting the Armed Forces community, and this donation will allow us to continue helping serving and ex-serving personnel and their families in Neston and across the northwest."
Louise Flynn, divisional marketing manager at McCarthy Stone, added: "An important part of what we do here at McCarthy Stone is support local activities and initiatives in the towns and communities in which we build to help create a lasting, positive legacy.
"Therefore, we’re delighted to lend our support to the Royal British Legion, which does a fantastic job of supporting the Armed Forces community in Neston and beyond."
Symonds Grange, located on the Wirral Peninsular, offers 30 one and two-bedroom retirement apartments along with home comforts and low-maintenance living spaces for the over 60s.
