THE highly anticipated Tarporley Carnival will return next weekend with the event set to be bigger and better than ever.

The popular community event, which this year carries the theme 'Going for Gold', will take place on the field behind the Community Centre on Saturday, July 13 from 12.30pm.

The parade will be making a comeback to celebrate 30 years since the first Carnival organised by the Tarporley and District Rotary Club.

It will leave from Burton Square and take in the High Street and Eaton Road.

Live music from established acts and talented amateurs will feature throughout the day, with Kaylie Malone performing tributes to both Taylor Swift and Katy Perry, as well as band Cover All Basses and old favourites including the Jeff Lewis Jazz Quartet, Karamba Samba, & Tarporley Silver Band.

There will also be food and drink in the form of a delicious barbecue, refreshing beer, prosecco and even a cosy tea tent.

Market stalls, entertainers and an inflatable obstacle course will ensure that there’s never a dull moment.

Tarporley Independents (the local independent business committee) will be giving away golden tickets with the opportunity to win prizes such as a free pint at the Swan pub to £50 shopping vouchers at local businesses.

The event is a labour of love, organised by dedicated volunteers from the Tarporley and District Rotary Club, with invaluable support from the Tarporley 41 Club and numerous other local volunteers.

The majority of stallholders are local charities, community organisations, and micro businesses and all the profits from this event are donated to both local and international charities, making a positive impact far and wide.

The Carnival is expected to attract around 2,000 visitors.

Admission is £5 for adults, with under 16s able to enter for free.
