An annual celebrity cricket tournament in the scenic grounds of a Cheshire castle has gone over and above to help a worthy cause.

Once more, the Lord's Taverners Celebrity Cricket Match has taken place with the beautiful backdrop being provided by Cholmondeley Castle.

The Tavs XI took on The Gentlemen of Cheshire XI, in an event which saw tens of thousands of pounds being raised for the Lord's Taverners cricket programmes.

The fundraising spectacular was put together by Peter Willis and Paul Walker, and was sponsored by Bear Inns, who operate The Swan at Tarporley, The Lion at Malpas and Bradwall Bakehouse.

Famous faces including Gordon Kennedy, David Gower, Nick Hancock and Louise Minchin were among those in attendance.

As well as the cricket match, Sally Fearnall presented the key to John Heritage of the David Lewis Centre, a minibus in memory of her husband 'Mark Foxy Fearnall'.

Musical entertainment was provided by Belle Voci operatic duo.

The Lord's Taverners is the UK's leading youth cricket and disability sports charity, giving disadvantaged and disabled young people access to sport.
