A DRINK and drug-driver has been banned from the roads.
Northwich resident Jake Heard is disqualified from driving for the next 17 months after admitting to a string of offences.
The 34-year-old was driving a Volkswagen Golf in Winsford on February 12 when he was caught earlier this year.
At this time, Heard had 12µg/l cocaine and 560µg/l of benzoylecgonine (the primary metabolite of cocaine) in his system, both above their respective 10µg/l and 50µg/l limits.
He was also slightly over the drink-driving limit, with 41µg of alcohol found in 100ml of his breath – the limit being 35µg.
Heard, of Middlewich Road, appeared at Crewe Magistrates Court on Thursday (July 4) where he pleaded guilty to three charges and was subsequently disqualified from driving for 17 months.
He was also handed a 12-month community order.
As part of this, Heard must complete up to 10 days of rehabilitation activity and 80 hours of unpaid work.
He must also pay £85 in costs to the Crown Prosecution Service, along with a £114 surcharge, by August 1.
