Pupils from a Chester school have enjoyed a range of residential trips this summer.

The Firs School's children experienced a range of activities including kayaking, orienteering and rock climbing.

Year six visited Rhoscolyn, while Year four and five enjoyed team-building exercises in Castleton including visiting the Blue John mine.

Mr Girvan, head teacher at The Firs School said: "We were delighted the children had such a wonderful time on the residential trips and firmly believe that happy and well nurtured children can reach their full potential academically."

"Inspiring children to learn and develop underpins everything we do at The Firs School so these residential trips are very important.

"The children all really enjoyed the team work and have worked really hard throughout the academic year and it was great to see them having so much fun whilst still learning lots of important life skills."
