Chester retirement living complex tenants are celebrating the opening of their new IT and library room at MHA Callin Court.
The new space, resulting from conversation-inspired tenant input, has been well-received among tenants.
New IT equipment now allows the elderly residents to connect online with their loved ones.
The multi-apartment complex, houses a mix of one and two-bedroom properties hosting a diverse community of residents aged 55 and over.
This new addition to their facilities will boost the living experience for the 44 households.
Grace Lucion, registered care manager, shared her thoughts on the development.
She said: "We decided to create a library as we have books and shelves around the building, and it made sense to put them together.
"Our tenants were very keen to the idea of creating a library and have been busy with ensuring that all books are coded based on their genre.
"We also have a returned books box and donated books box so tenants can continue to ensure that books are arranged per genre once returned.
"It took our tenants 4-6 weeks, and we were finally able to open it for everyone to use."
More equipment has been included too.
Ms Lucion said: "We have also installed a computer, printer, webcam and headphone so tenants can search or communicate with their families via video call."
