WE CAN now reveal our Primary School of the Year following Friday’s (July 12) second annual Standard Education Awards.
The best of Cheshire West’s education community celebrate together at the Hilton’s Double Tree hotel in Chester.
Broadcaster Lucy Meacock hosted as we thanked those who work tirelessly to give the children in our borough the best education possible.
This year’s finalists were:
- Cherry Grove Primary School, Chester
- Delamere C of E Primary School, Chester
- St Winefrides Catholic Primary School, Neston
Literacy Counts’ Gareth Davies was on hand to present the award to our winner, Cherry Grove Primary School.
Headteacher Beth Hacking said: “[The award] means absolutely everything, as mentioned we have had a tough year however, I think you can see from the fact that everyone is here that we’re an incredibly strong team.”
Ms Hacking said that Cherry Grove was “a family” and that staff had work hard to get the best out of “every single child.”
She added: “We’ve all got each other’s backs and every single day when we turn up we are thinking about how we can care for these children and how we can make sure that they reach their potential.”
It was another successful year at the Standard Education Awards for Cherry Grove, having won our Headteacher of the Year Award in 2023.
