AS THE Standard held its second annual Education Awards on Friday, July 12, we celebrated those in the Early Years sector.

Our Early Years award recognises the hard work and dedication of those in the sector who help to ensure that children in Cheshire West get the best possible start to their education journey.

At a special ceremony on Friday, July 12, hosted by broadcaster Lucy Meacock, Cheshire West’s education community came together to celebrate.

We can now reveal our three finalists for this year’s Early Years Award:

  • Guilden Sutton Day Nursery, Chester
  • Kids Planet, Chester
  • Little Learners Nursery, Chester

And our winner for this year’s Early Years Award, sponsored by Evidenced Education Ltd, is:

  • Kids Planet, Chester

Evidenced Education Ltd's Emma Neal was on hand to present the award.

Nursery Manager Jess Holland said: “It’s amazing [to win]. I think it’s testament to the staff, that’s who make these nurseries special.

“Everyday they’re working to make those children feel like they’ve had the best day ever and we’re very privileged [to work with them].

“We feel honoured to be trusted with people’s most precious gift and every single day we make sure that we’re striving to keep families happy, nurturing them, both at home and at the nursery, and creating that healthy community.”
