A talented teenage DJ from Chester who has already had years of experience on stage is getting ready to host a dance night in her hometown.
DJ Tayha, from Blacon, is just 17 but is a seasoned professional at the decks, playing sets of dance tunes for both adults and under-18 audiences since the age of 12, when she first performed The Live Rooms.
Now Tayha, who became the UK's youngest female club and festival DJ, is ready to mix it with the best at Chester's Club Bonobo on St John Street on Friday, August 2, in an event titled 'Tayha Presents Resilient'.
The electronic dance music expert will host a club night featuring Billy Gillies, whose 2023 single DNA with Hannah Boleyn reached the UK Singles Chart Top 10, and Scottish-born star David Rust.
DJ Tayha's popularity is evident, with thousands of followers on Facebook, TikTok, SoundCloud, and other social platforms, with fans who follow her around the country to show their support. Her career has seen her work with some of the biggest brands in the industry and collaborate with some of the biggest names in the industry.
Notably, she obtained a unique licence to DJ in clubs and festivals at such a young age, a first of its kind, and still unmatched.
Proud dad Dean Rodric – also DJ Tayha's manager – is working behind the scenes to promote his daughter as she continues her run of success by hosting to Club Bonobo event.
He said: "Tayha's words to me were 'one day dad, I will play there in my own town'. She is ecstatic that she is headlining with Billie Gillies and David Rust in the club she's longed to DJ in quite some time.
"I have to pinch myself and take myself out of the box, and watch her perform – not as her dad, but as any other club goer.
"It's a very emotional feeling, one that never fails. I am full of pride at how far she's come and I am very grateful not just to the promoters that book her, but most of all to each and every single fan that shares my girl's work and attends to watch her.
"One guy said to me, at one of her events, he'd driven all the way just to see Tayha amongst the major line-up that was on. That meant so much to me.
"People ask me, what do I get from this? I always let Tayha keep her earnings. She spends it on her studio and equipment, always trying to up her game. My reward is literally watching her perform.
"There is no better feeling than your children succeeding in their dreams and living that out. I have many children I love equally and they are all super proud of their sister."
As she approaches her 18th birthday, DJ Tayha anticipates even more opportunities and is excited to see where her career will take her next, hoping to perform at Liverpool's Reminisce Festival. She receives numerous messages from aspiring DJs, both children and adults, and both Tayha and her dad are always happy to offer guidance and support, while Tayha hones her craft from a sophisticated home studio set-up.
DJ Tayha has also produced original tracks of her own, with her tunes topping the Bounce Heaven charts. The talented music mixologist is also lined up to perform as part of the all-nighter Bounc:N event in Ro-Loz Nightclub, Oswestry on Saturday, August 17 (9pm-4.30am).
Club Bonobo has attracted much in the way of musical talent, including Hannah Laing, Ben Hensley, Rossi and Enzo is Burning.
