Local photographer, Stephen Cain, recently clinched a prestigious award at the 2024 Event Photography Awards.
Mr Cain specialises in capturing arts events throughout Chester, Wrexham and North Wales along with providing professional headshots for local actors.
He triumphed in the Music Events - Performance Category for a photograph he captured during the 2023 Devafest festival.
Mr Cain's winning shot featured Electronica legends Morcheeba during their performance.
He won amid intense competition, with approximately 800 entries contending for the award.
The Event Photography Awards is a renowned competition open to both professional and amateur photographers, recognising excellence in 16 fields such as Music Events, Concerts and Performers, Behind the Scenes, Food and Drink, Corporate Events and Conferences, Cultural Events, Weddings and A-listers.
Competition and events director for the Event Photography Awards, Graham Hill, spoke highly of Stephen's accomplishment.
He said: "The Music Events - Performances Category was by far the most competitive, with nearly 800 entries - so Stephen has achieved a significant victory."
Grateful for the recognition, Mr Cain expressed his passion for creating impactful and personality-rich photographs.
He said: "I have a great passion for Photographing the Performing Arts and creating images that have impact and personality.
"Its a good feeling to have your work appreciated and this will encourage me to continue this wonderful journey and further develop my photography."
Mr Cain developed his passion for photography 15 years ago, eventually establishing himself as an events photographer.
He is much sought after across Chester, Wrexham, and North Wales, where he captures performances for numerous theatre companies such as Against The Grain, Chester Little Theatre, Grove Park Theatre, and Tip Top Productions.
In addition to live events, Mr Cain also provides industry-standard headshots for actors, performers, and business professionals at his studio in Wrexham, established five years ago.
