TWO people have been taken to hospital with 'serious injuries'.
It follows a crash on the A533 Runcorn Road this morning (July 18).
A large emergency service presence is currently in attendance, with the road closed from Barnton to the A49.
"At 9.16am today, police were called to a collision involving a blue Ford Focus and a white Suzuki Celerio on the A533 on Runcorn Road, Northwich.
"The road is currently closed between Barnton and the A49 while emergency services work at the scene.
"Two casualties have been taken to hospital with serious injuries.
"Anyone with information should contact Cheshire police on 101 or via www.cheshire.police.uk//tell-us quoting IML 1873317."
North West Ambulance Service sent three ambulance crews, an advanced paramedic, the Hazardous Area Response Team and an operational commander to the scene.
They were joined there by two air ambulances.
One of the patients has been taken to hospital by road, and the other by air ambulance.
