A PASSENGER has died following a crash on a main road in Cheshire West..
Cheshire Police have confirmed that a man has died after a crash on the A533 Runcorn Road today (July 18).
He was the passenger of a white Suzuki Celerio which collided with a blue Ford Focus at around 9.16am.
His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.
Meanwhile, the drivers of both vehicles have been taken to hospital with ‘serious injuries’.
Police are now urging anyone with information or dashcam footage to come forward.
Inspector Steve Griffiths, of the Cheshire Police Serious and Complex Collision Investigation Unit said: “Enquires in relation to this collision are ongoing and we are committed to doing all we can to establish exactly what took place.
“As part of our investigation, we’re keen to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time and believes they may have witnessed the incident.
“The same goes for anyone with any dashcam footage or CCTV footage which may aid the investigation.
“We are also looking to speak to anyone who resides on Runcorn Road, who may have captured CCTV or doorbell footage of the vehicles involved prior to the collision.”
Runcorn Road remains closed between Barnton and the A49 while emergency services continue work at the scene.
