The first batch of almost 100 new homes in a Cheshire town go on sale soon, with all profits being put into social and community projects.
Planning permission was granted last year for Prospect Homes’ Abbey Vale development at South Lane in Widnes, with 99 properties ranging in size from two to four bedrooms.
Prospect is part of the Riverside Group, a not-for-profit organisation that has been providing affordable homes for more than 90 years, along with services that tackle homelessness, improve communities and support the vulnerable.
The profits the company makes goes back to the Riverside Group to be re-invested in services
Prospect will be holding an event at its Bridgemere development in Burscough next weekend (July 27) where prospective buyers will be able to put their name down on a Widnes property.
Sam Palin, head of sales at Prospect Homes, said: “There has already been a lot of interest in our homes at Abbey Vale. Earlier this month, we introduced the new homes to customers who had an expressed an interest. As a result, some customers were quick to secure their preferred plots."
As well as being able to walk around the two show homes at Bridgemere, visitors can also browse interior choices that will be available to have in their home at Abbey Vale.
Sam added: "Even though we are selling off-plan until the show homes open later this year, the beauty of us selling these homes from Bridgemere in Burscough is that customers can see our product."
The 8.6 acre site was acquired by Prospect from a local landowner whose family had lived there since the 1860s. The site was identified in the Halton Delivery and Allocations Local Plan as land for residential development and the 99 homes will contribute towards the council’s target of delivering 8,050 homes by 2037.
Prospect said it will invest more than £600,000 into the local community and, because they are part of Riverside Group, all profits will go towards helping others.
