THE Chester Grosvenor’s acclaimed Arkle restaurant is celebrating another award after claiming ‘City Restaurant of the Year’ at the Cheshire Life Food and Drink Awards.
The win reinforces the 3 AA Rosette restaurant’s reputation as one of the top dining destinations in the heart of Chester.
The awards, which took place last night (Monday, July 22), celebrate excellence in the hospitality industry, recognising outstanding chefs, producers, and venues that make the region a hub for remarkable food and drink experiences.
The Chester Grosvenor says Arkle’s victory in the highly competitive City Restaurant of the Year category is a “testament to the restaurant’s commitment to innovation, quality, and service.”
They attribute the success to the vision and leadership of Executive Chef Elliot Hill, who was named 'Chef of the Year' twice last year by both the Cheshire Life Food and Drink Awards and the Chester Hospitality Association People Awards.
Adding that his dedication to “excellence, creative flair, and passion for showcasing the finest local ingredients” have been instrumental in Arkle’s rise to prominence.
Elliot expressed his delight at Arkle's latest achievement, saying that he is “over the moon” to win the award.
He said: “Chester as a city, from casual street food to high end, has really stepped it up over the last couple of years. I’m so proud of the team we have here, the dedication, and that they’ve been recognised with this.
“The chefs and kitchen team work tirelessly to produce incredible and unique dishes; the front of house team meticulously work on the presentation and service, and of course unique wines from our sommelier Boris and award-winning cellar. All in all I’m so thrilled for each and every one of them, it’s the least they deserve for the consistent high standards we deliver at Arkle.”
Cheshire Life Editor Joanne Goodwin said: “The food and drink offering in Chester is phenomenal and at the highest level stands Arkle at The Chester Grosvenor. The judges felt it truly deserved to be this year's winner for its incredible service, consistent reinvention and sublime food. The pride of Chester.”
