A teenager remains in hospital following a serious attack which happened at an Ellesmere Port park on Tuesday evening.
Police are investigating and are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
At around 6.37pm on Tuesday, July 23, police were called to reports of an assault in a park area near to Mill Lane and Overpool Road, Ellesmere Port.
Officers and paramedics attended the scene and found a 17-year-old boy had suffered serious injuries. He was taken to hospital where he remains at this time.
A 14-year-old boy and a 15-year-old boy were later arrested at a train station on suspicion of section 18 assault, having been tracked by the police dog unit. They remain in police custody at this time.
Officers are now appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or has any other information to get in touch with them.
Detective Inspector Rupert Morrey said: “We understand the concern this incident is likely to cause but we would like to reassure the local community that this is believed to be an isolated incident.
“There will be additional patrols in the area as reassurance and anyone with any concerns can speak to an officer.
“We would urge any witnesses to come forward. The same goes for anyone with any information which may aid our enquiries.”
