FIREFIGHTERS were called to a small woodland near the centre of Chester this afternoon (Thursday, July 25) after reports of a fire.
A fire crew arrived at the scene at Newton Hollows near Sefton Road at around 12.20pm.
A spokesperson for Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “A small fire in woodland was put out by firefighters using a water backpack.
“They then dampened down the area. The fire is believed to have been started deliberately.”
