A MAN who made police officers' job 'difficult' with his 'erratic' behaviour has appeared in court.
Ryan Lloyd, of Thistledown Drive in Featherstone, Wolverhampton, appeared at Mold Magistrates Court on Thursday.
The 26-year-old admitted that on July 7 in Saltney Ferry, he resisted a police officer in the execution of their duty.
Prosecutor Rhian Jackson told the court that on the day in question, police were called just before midnight by a woman who reported her partner - Lloyd - was intoxicated and behaving aggressively.
He'd consumed almost a whole bottle of gin and was refusing to leave, the court heard.
Officers attended the scene, in North Street, and arrested the defendant in order to prevent a breach of the peace.
When he was taken outside, he began to resist - trying to pull away and break free of the officers' grip.
After being taken to the ground, he "went deadweight" and had to be lifted into a police cell.
The court heard he was "maniacally laughing" through much of the incident and appeared intoxicated.
Officers formed the view he may have been under the influence of something else too as his behaviour was "erratic" and his pupils were dilated.
Mike Pugh, defending, told the court: "The incident happened at the conclusion of what was a breakup between the parties.
"Mr Lloyd was preparing to move back to Wolverhampton.
"The police were called and he fully accepts he made their job more difficult.
"His behaviour was out of character and wholly unacceptable.
"He is genuinely remorseful."
District Judge Gwyn Jones told the defendant police officers go to work to help people - not be "hindered" by the likes of his behaviour.
The defendant received a £150 fine and must pay £85 costs, as well as a £60 victim surcharge.
