A TRAVELLER group have been ordered to leave a park and ride site in Chester after setting up an unauthorised camp on Tuesday (July 23).
The group are currently occupying land at Wrexham Road Park & Ride site, with four caravans on the site.
Unauthorised encampments are managed by the Cheshire and Warrington Traveller Team who will access each camp checking welfare, cleanliness, disruption of local businesses and obstruction of highways.
The Council has confirmed today (Thursday, July 25) that the group have been served with a section 77 notice, which requires them to leave by a pre-agreed date.
Failure to leave will likely result in the Council applying for a possession order from Chester Magistrates’ Court (section 78).
The site at Wrexham Road was previously the site of another unauthorised encampment at the beginning of the month, with a group travelling in five caravans ordered to leave on July 3.
