A POLICE patrol is set to assess an unauthorised encampment in Chester.
The Traveller group, who arrived yesterday (Thursday, July 25), have set up a camp with five caravans on a field at Cheshire County Sport Club on Plas Newton Lane.
Private landowners, such as Cheshire County Sports Club, can enlist the help of the Cheshire and Warrington Traveller Team, however unlike unauthorised encampments on Council-owned land, the responsibility falls on the landowner to deal with the issue.
Cheshire Police are now scheduled to attend the site.
Cheshire West and Chester Council have confirmed that another group, previously camped at Wrexham Road Park & Ride site, have now left the location.
This group were served with a section 77 notice yesterday, requiring them to leave by a pre-agreed date.
