Cartridge People have launched their latest photography competition ‘Memories Through the Lens’ to celebrate World Photography Day on August 15.
Running until August 29, the contest encourages photographers to show off their skills.
According to research by Epson, only two per cent of photos saved on our mobiles are printed and shown in our homes, with most piling up in our digital albums.
Cheshire based Cartridge People's aim with this contest is to spark creativity in ways of preserving physical copies of cherished pictures.
For the duration of the contest, Cartridge People will create a series of content geared at inspiring individuals to do more with their photos.
This will include advice on restoring old pictures, photography tips and guidance on how to print from different gadgets.
Nicky Bendall, marketing campaign manager at Cartridge People, said: "With the Summer holidays now in full swing, we wanted to encourage people to find creative ways to store and display their Summer memories.
"Our campaign hopes to get people to stop living only through their phones and find ways to relive the moments that mean the most to them, whether it’s by creating memory boards, scrapbooks or simply displaying them throughout the house."
The winner of the competition will not only receive a Polaroid photography bundle worth £200, but will have the opportunity for their photos to be featured in print, in a local magazine, on Cartridge People's blog and social media platforms.
In-house photographer, Ilias Kounenis will judge the entries, with winners announced on Cartridge People’s social media channels and website on September 4.
Entry to the competition can be done by submitting a photo fitting the theme ‘Memories Through the Lens’ on Cartridge People's website, or sharing the picture on social media, tagging @Cartridge People and using the hashtag #LensMemories2024.
Contestants are encouraged to provide a brief description of the story behind the photo and its relevance to the theme.
For those needing inspiration or advice on how to snap and print the perfect moment, a wealth of photography tips are available on Cartridge People's blog.
