A SUSPECT has been arrested by police following a raid at a huge cannabis farm in Cheshire.
Hundreds of cannabis plants have been seized and a man has been arrested after a warrant was executed in Widnes.
At around 7.25am yesterday (Tuesday, August 6), officers entered an address on Brookdale, with 200 cannabis plants seized from the property.
Cheshire Police also discovered the electricity was being abstracted as part of the set-up to grow the controlled class B drug.
A 35-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the production of a class B drug, and he remains in police custody at this time.
Chief inspector Daniel Haddock said: “This is a great result, with a significant quantity of cannabis removed from the streets of Widnes.
“The supply and use of illegal drugs has an incredibly negative impact on the community, and our fight against this type of behaviour is never over.
“We will continue to do all we can to put a stop to this activity.
“Residents are urged to report any suspicions of illegal drug-related activity to the police.”
