A Chester student has represented the UK at a European Scout event in Norway.
Georgia Rickets has returned from Roverway 2024, which was set against the fjord coastline of Lundsneset in Stavanger.
The event was a gathering of 5,000 Scouts aged 16 to 22 from across Europe and beyond.
Ms Rickets joined in a five-day expedition across southern Norway, an international camp in Stavanger, and a ferry trip to Copenhagen.
Speaking about the event, the 16-year-old from Chester said: "Roverway started by learning about Scouting across Europe and the issues other young people face in their lives.
"We looked at human rights and gender equality, it was so interesting.
"Looking into these big issues with new friends made us feel like a big family, and it was sad when we said goodbye to each other.
"We bonded over common interests and our passion for Scouts, I hope we will be friends for life.
"It’s these connections that will really stick with me."
Chief Scout Bear Grylls also wished Ms Rickets well, saying: "A massive congratulations to Georgia Rickets who represented the UK at Roverway 2024.
"Roverway is an amazing opportunity to discover yourself and make new friends, whilst participating in a programme that demonstrates true Scouting spirit by developing skills for life.
"Everyone involved had the trip of a lifetime in Stavanger.
"The diversity of people they met reminds us all about what the world has to offer: new cultures and new friends, becoming ever more tolerant and caring about others."
The event helped develop independence and resilience in its participants, starting with the youth-led, five-day Norwegian expedition.
