A CHESTER pub is planning a weekend of live music and family fun to raise money for three great charities this August bank holiday.
Piper Fest, hosted by the popular Piper pub in Hoole, will see a range of live acts, children’s entertainment, and fairground games across Saturday, August 24, and Sunday, August 25, as the pub raises funds for Family Action, Space Cheshire and Celandine Wood Animal Rescue.
The outside bar will be open across both days as well as a barbecue from 6pm until 10pm on Sunday.
The live music starts on Saturday, with local artist Paul Mealia playing from 6pm until 6.45pm. Greame Reece will take over from 7pm until 7.45pm, before Liverpool band Rock Steady will close out the evening from 8pm until 10pm.
Throughout the afternoon, there’ll be family entertainment from Jeff Events and for youngster there’ll be face painting (2pm – 5pm) and a bouncy castle (12pm – 8pm).
Sunday will see a cider festival with a country rock theme, with a wide variety of Lilley’s ciders available. Cowboy boots and hats are welcome, with a prize for best dressed.
Classic festival games will take place through the afternoon (1pm – 6pm) and the bouncy castle will also return (12pm – 8pm).
Local artist Josh Gibbons (6pm – 6.45pm), Edd Case (7pm – 7.45pm) and band Kudos (8pm – 10pm) will take over live music duties.
Donations are welcome and cash is recommended, with a small fee for games, face painting and entertainment. All contributions will be equally split across the three charities.
