Chester-based BusinessComparison has been named as a finalist at this year’s SME National Business Awards – and will head to Wembley Stadium for a glittering ceremony later this year.
The team of 13, which runs the online comparison site for essential business services, has been nominated in the ‘Business of the Year - Less Than 50 Employees’ category, and is hoping for a victorious night come the awards ceremony on December 6.
The awards celebrate and raise the profile of industrious, hardworking and enterprising SMEs across the country and have been running for eight years, with the BusinessComparison team – based at the Steam Mill Buisness Centre – also shortlisted for the same gong back in 2018.
Philip Brennan, founder and managing director at BusinessComparison, said: “As an organisation, we’re a champion for small businesses, and so being named among the country’s best SMEs is a real honour.
“Our team works tirelessly all year round to support and empower small enterprises, and this recognition is a testament to their hard work and commitment.
“We’re thrilled to be finalists this year and look forward to celebrating with other inspiring businesses at Wembley Stadium, whatever the result on the night.”
BusinessComparison was founded in 2014 by Philip Brennan, inspired by his experience at MoneySuperMarket, having recognised that there was still more to offer to SMEs looking for a reliable comparison service.
After launching a beta site, the company quickly evolved, expanding into Business Energy and Insurance comparisons by 2018.
Since its inception, BusinessComparison has grown and grown. The firm is looking to sustain the growth of both its team and digital footprint.
Mr Brennan added: “Our journey from a small startup to a leading business comparison site has been incredibly rewarding and is a great source of pride for our team.
“We're excited for the future and committed to continually evolving to meet the needs of small businesses across the UK."
