A PRIVATE dental practice has been sold.

Business property adviser Christie & Co has announced the sale of Dentist@29 in Northwich following the retirement of the owner, Dr Peter Young.

It has been purchased by first-time buyer Dr Marina George of Ladywell Enterprises Limited for an undisclosed fee.

Jonathan Watson, director of dental at Christie & Co, said: “We are delighted to have assisted Peter and Marina in the successful sale and purchase of Dentist@29.

“This transaction highlights the strong demand for private dental practices in the current market.

“The interest in Dentist@29 underscores the ongoing trend where buyers are eager to acquire well-established, reputable practices in desirable locations.

“We are proud to have facilitated this deal and look forward to seeing their continued success in Cheshire's vibrant dental community.”

Established in 1968, the practice has been owned by Dr Young for more than 30 years.

It was brought to market to allow Dr Young to retire.

He said: “I bought the practice in 1990, and it was a 50/50 private NHS practice.

“In 1994, I went completely private with the help of a Denplan-led conversion. I then focussed on dental implant treatments.

“A couple of years back, I realised I did not want to run the business any longer.”

Sarah Brough, solicitor in the corporate team at Forbes Solicitors who advised Dr Young, added: “It has been a pleasure working with Dr Young and supporting the wider team on this transaction.

“We wish everyone involved all the best for the future.”

Currently, Dentist@29 offers high-quality preventative dentistry, implants, and aesthetic treatments.

The property itself, located on Castle Street, boasts a modern fit-out and feel, and two well-fitted surgeries, with room for more.

The new owner, Dr George, graduated from Government Dental College in Thiruvananthapuram in 1998 and worked in private practice in India until 2006.

During this time, she also worked as a lecturer in the Department of Conservative Dentistry at Amrita School of Dentistry.

In 2008, she completed her ORE, registered with the General Dental Council, and started practicing in the UK in a predominantly NHS practice.

In 2014, Dr George completed a Multi-System Implantology Certification and in July 2024 completed a Master's degree in implantology at the University of Salford.

On her plans for Dental@29 she said: “Following the completion of the purchase of this practice, I plan to run it solely as a private implant practice but will phase out into the digital aspect of implant technology and utilise the provision of two additional surgeries in the next three years.”
